USA Luge

You might not easily see the connection: a global provider of components and assemblies to some of the world’s largest equipment companies and a winter Olympic sport that sees sleds and their riders speeding down an icy track at extreme speed. But Vulcan GMS has been a proud supporting partner of USA Luge since 1990.

Olympic lugers are allowed to use lead weights to bring them up to the maximum weight limit, and we are proud to provide those aerodynamic lead weights to Team USA free of charge. On Feb. 11, 2014, Erin Hamlin became the first individual luge medal winner for the U.S. team at the Sochi, Russia, games. In the 2018 Pyongchang, South Korea games, Chris Mazdzer became the first U.S. men’s singles luge medalist with a 2nd place finish. He is the first and currently the only non-European to win a medal in that event.
